NOTICE OF A HEARING
Enbridge Gas Inc. has applied to construct natural gas pipelines in the Municipality of Casselman, the Township of North Stormont, the Municipality of The Nation, and the City of Ottawa
Enbridge Gas Inc. (Enbridge Gas) has applied to the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) for an order granting leave to construct approximately 13.2 km of hydrocarbon pipelines. The purpose of the pipelines is to connect a renewable natural gas (RNG) producer, GFL Renewables Inc. (GFL), to the existing Enbridge Gas distribution network. This will allow Enbridge Gas to receive and transport the RNG to end-use markets via the Dawn natural gas trading hub. The pipelines will be located in the Municipality of Casselman, the Township of North Stormont, and the Municipality of The Nation (referred to as the Casselman Segment), as well as in the City of Ottawa (referred to as the Ottawa Segment). The two segments are geographically separate but interconnected through Enbridge Gas’s existing distribution network. Enbridge Gas states that the project will be fully funded by GFL and will not result in additional costs to existing ratepayers. Enbridge Gas has applied for approval of the form of agreement it will offer to landowners affected by the routing or location of the proposed pipelines. The location of the proposed pipelines is shown on the maps to the right The OEB will also assess: •The applicant’s compliance with the OEB’s Environmental Guidelines for the Location, Construction and Operation of Hydrocarbon Pipelines and Facilities in Ontario. •Whether the duty to consult with Indigenous Communities potentially affected by the proposed pipeline has been discharged with respect to the application.
