A HEARTWARMING DAY WE WON’T FORGET

Ustick Dental Cares Day Made 62 Smiles Brighter

We just celebrated our favorite day of the year, and we couldn’t be more thankful for all we got to do on Nov. 3. For those who may have forgotten, Ustick Dental Cares

haven’t seen a dentist in years. Neglected teeth can lead to

painful toothaches and other health issues that no one should ever suffer because they don’t have access to dental care. That’s why

Day took place on the 3rd, and my team and I were able to offer free dental services to those in need of them. We have been holding this event for almost 10 years now! It’s how we show the community we care, and this year, we saw an incredible turnout we’ll never forget. On Ustick Dental Cares Day, we provide as many free dental services as possible all day. This year, with the help of the Ustick Dental team and hardworking volunteers, we served 62 people from our community by completing 41 free tooth extractions and 43 free teeth cleanings. That’s $19,892 in donated services in a single seven-hour day! A free cleaning or tooth extraction may seem small to some, but for many, it can impact their daily lives and overall health. Due to financial struggles or lack of insurance coverage, countless people have been forced to live without basic dental care and

this event has always meant so much to me and my team, as we know how greatly a free service can uplift a patient. I’m grateful for my Ustick Dental team and the volunteers who gave us a helping hand to treat as many people as possible. Our representative from Burkhart Dental Supply, Mallory, assisted us all day and even provided lunch for the entire team of volunteers. The fact that she gave up her whole day to help did not go unnoticed, and we’re thankful for her support at Ustick Dental year-round and on this special day. Additionally, two of our previous teammates joined us on Ustick Dental Cares Day: Erin, a long-time hygienist at Ustick Dental, and Kate, our former dental assistant. It means so much that they would rejoin our team for the day despite no longer working at our clinic. It’s clear this is our staff’s favorite day

of the year, as the atmosphere is filled with positivity, excitement, and a genuine joy to give back to the community. Still thrilled by the outstanding outcome of this year’s Ustick Dental Cares Day, we’re offering a new giveaway prize! As some of you may already know, we offer a quarterly giveaway where any patient who has given us a referral will have their name put in a raffle for a fun prize. This time, we’re giving away a brand-new Celestron StarSense Explorer telescope! This telescope can connect to your smartphone and give you a guided tour of the stars and planets above. We’re so excited to offer this gift, and we’re doing this giveaway in the first place because your referrals mean so much to us, and we want to show you how much we appreciate your spreading the word about Ustick Dental. I’m looking forward to seeing who will win this quarter’s prize, and I’m even already getting ready for next year’s Ustick Dental Cares Day! Thank you so much for your support, and I wish you a happy holiday season from our family to yours.

Walk Your Way to Better Digestion

The Post-Meal Walk: When and how long is best? You gain the most digestive benefits if you walk right after eating. Waiting too long afterward may only minimally aid your digestive process. Be sure to get moving as soon after your meal as possible! As for frequency, ideally, you should go for a stroll after every meal. However, to get started, try going for a walk after dinner. You can increase your number of walks as you get accustomed to the exercise. Ten minutes is all you need to reap the benefits of walking after eating. While you can walk longer if you’d like, 10 minutes is doable even with a busy schedule. Plus, if you walk for 10 minutes after every meal, that’s 30 minutes of exercise daily! Take your dog with you or stroll with your headphones, listening to your favorite podcast. How you walk is up to you, but no matter what, you’re doing your mind and body a huge favor!

We all know the after-lunch slump leaves us counting the minutes to our next nap. But research shows that sleeping or lying down after eating isn’t the best for health (no matter how good it feels). When you do this, you’re not allowing your body the time it needs to digest your food properly, and you may experience various digestive issues, such as acid reflux and heartburn. So, is walking the best activity to do after eating? The answer is yes! Walking i s a light movement that can help your food move through your stomach and intestines, making digestion smoother. Not only can walking help improve your digestion after eating, but this simple exercise can also bring many other benefits: • Regulating blood sugar levels • Managing blood pressure • Reducing the risk of heart disease • Boosting your mood • Improving sleep quality Of course, regular exercise improves your overall health significantly, even if it’s just a quick walk around the neighborhood!

Discover the Health Benefits of Chlorophyll

Immune Support By strengthening the immune system and reducing inflammation, chlorophyll can help the body protect itself against infections and diseases. Cancer Prevention While more research is needed, studies suggest that chlorophyll may help protect against certain types of cancer by preventing DNA damage and inhibiting cancer cell growth. While chlorophyll is generally safe, be sure to consult a health care professional before taking chlorophyll supplements, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, or taking medications. By incorporating more chlorophyll- rich foods and supplements into your daily routine, you’ll be on your way to improved overall health!

Chlorophyll, the green pigment responsible for absorbing energy from the sun and assisting plants in photosynthesis, is often referred to as “nature’s green magic” due to its numerous health benefits. Let’s explore the perks of adding some to your diet. Antioxidants Chlorophyll is rich in antioxidants that help combat oxidative stress in the body. Neutralizing harmful free radicals can reduce cellular damage and lower the risk of chronic diseases such as certain cancers and cardiovascular conditions. Detoxification Chlorophyll aids in purifying the body by binding to and removing toxins, heavy metals, and chemicals. This process supports liver health and promotes overall well-being. Alkalizing Effect Chlorophyll helps alkalize the body and balance pH levels. An alkaline environment is less susceptible to diseases, making it an essential component of an anti-inflammatory diet.

can help promote healthy digestion by reducing inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract and enhancing the growth of beneficial gut bacteria. Odor Control Chlorophyll can act as a natural deodorant by neutralizing odors in the body and reducing bad breath. Skin Health It’s believed that chlorophyll can assist with skin conditions such as acne, sun damage, and eczema, as its anti- inflammatory properties can soothe irritated skin and promote a healthier complexion. Weight Management Chlorophyll supplements can aid in weight loss by controlling appetite and suppressing cravings. These effects can lead to a lower calorie intake.
