Who can apply for a bursary? Boys offered a place at Dulwich College are in the top 15% of academic ability for their age group across the UK. Your son’s current school can advise whether he is in this range. For those applying to join in Years 3 to 7, a guide is that they should be working at Greater Depth in English and Mathematics at primary school. For boys applying to join in Years 7 and 9, specimen papers are available on our website.
Over 200 pupils at Dulwich have free or subsidised places, also known as bursaries. We offer bursaries of up to 100% and warmly welcome applications from parents of academically strong boys.
Over £4 million is awarded to Dulwich College bursaries.
While most bursaries are offered at Year 7 (11+), we also award them to boys joining in Year 3 (7+), Year 4 (8+), Year 5 (9+), Year 9 (13+) and Year 12 (16+). Dr Joe Spence, Head of Dulwich College, Fran Cooke, Head of Lower School, Dr Nick Black, Head of Admissions, and Sarah Betts, Registrar, answer some commonly asked questions about bursaries at Dulwich.
