Le détachement de Hawkesbury de la Police provinciale de l’Ontario (PPO) a annoncé, le lundi matin 26 février, que la mort suspecte survenue à Alfred- Plantagenet la semaine dernière était bel et bien un meurtre. Une autopsie a révélé que la cause du décès était une blessure causée par un coup de couteau. Mathew Brisebois, 30 ans, est accusé de meurtre au deuxième degré pour la mort de Timothy Provost, 32 ans. La police et les ambulanciers paramédi- caux de Prescott-Russell se sont rendus à une résidence située sur la route de comté 17, peu avant 20 h le 22 février 2024, et ont trouvé le corps de Timothy Provost dans un appartement. Selon la police, M. Brisebois a été arrêté par le détachement de Hawkesbury sans incident, le dimanche 25 février. Il a été accusé de meurtre au deuxième degré et demeurera en détention jusqu’à son enquête sur cautionnement, le lundi 26 février, à la Cour de justice de l’Ontario à L’Orignal. La Direction des enquêtes criminelles de la PPO, le Bureau du coroner en chef et le Service de pathologie légale de l’Ontario continuent de mener l’enquête. L’unité

Une femme de L’Orginal, Marie Brigitte Myre, est accusée de possession de cocaïne dans le but d’en faire le trafic, de conduite de son véhicule avec du cannabis dans un bagage ouvert et de conduite dangereuse. (OPP) She was lated released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on March 13, 2024 at the L’Orignal Court of Justice. A L’Orginal woman is facing charges for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, driving her vehicle with can- nabis in open baggage and for unsafe driving. Marie Brigitte Myre was arrested fol- lowing a traffic stop on County Road 17 in Champlain township on February 18 at approximately 10:30 p.m. for a sobriety check. She was subsequently arrested and charged by the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police with offenses under the controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Highway Traffic Act and Cannabis Control Act.
