Ireland's Plumbing & Heating Issue 124 Feb-Mar

NEWS

Trappex, a leading innovator in water treatment, has introduced the latest additions to its highly- acclaimed Genesis range of magnetic boiler filters. The new 28mm Genesis filters, available with or without valves, are designed to deliver exceptional performance and durability for larger heating systems while maintaining a compact and efficient design. Crafted from robust brass and backed by a 25-year warranty, the new filters are built to withstand the demands of modern heating systems. A lidless design eliminates the need for regular seal replacements, offering a maintenance-friendly solution for long-term reliability. Isolating valves are integrated directly into the body of the unit, removing the need for additional seals and simplifying the installation process. Whether you are working with horizontal, vertical or angled pipework, the Genesis 28mm filters are designed to fit and operate efficiently in any orientation. The compact design ensures these filters can be installed even in the tightest of spaces, offering installers unparalleled versatility. The new filters are available now through leading plumbing merchants across the UK. www.trappex.co.uk TRAPPEX EXPANDS GENESIS RANGE WITH 28MM MAGNETIC FILTERS

PUBLIC CONSULTATION LAUNCHED FOR MAJOR WATER INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT

Uisce Éireann has launched a non-statutory consultation for the first major new-source water infrastructure investment in the region for 60 years, the Water Supply Project Eastern and Midlands Region. One of the largest infrastructure projects in the history of the state, it will aim to create capacity for meeting the water-supply needs of up to 50% of the population. The once-in-a-generation project will develop a climate-resilient, long-term water source to meet the demands of a growing

population and economy, including housing. The project proposes to abstract water from Parteen Basin, upstream of Parteen Weir on the Lower River Shannon, to be treated near Birdhill, Co Tipperary. It will then be transported 170km through counties Tipperary, Offaly and Kildare to a termination point reservoir at Peamount, connecting into the Greater Dublin Area water distribution network. The consultation process will be open until March 4. www.water.ie/watersupplyproject
