PUBLIC CONSULTATION LAUNCHED FOR MAJOR WATER INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT
Uisce Éireann has launched a non-statutory consultation for the first major new-source water infrastructure investment in the region for 60 years, the Water Supply Project Eastern and Midlands Region. One of the largest infrastructure projects in the history of the state, it will aim to create capacity for meeting the water-supply needs of up to 50% of the population. The once-in-a-generation project will develop a climate-resilient, long-term water source to meet the demands of a growing
population and economy, including housing. The project proposes to abstract water from Parteen Basin, upstream of Parteen Weir on the Lower River Shannon, to be treated near Birdhill, Co Tipperary. It will then be transported 170km through counties Tipperary, Offaly and Kildare to a termination point reservoir at Peamount, connecting into the Greater Dublin Area water distribution network. A new Fast Track 2025 promotion has been launched by Ideal Heating, giving installers in Northern Ireland the opportunity to earn up to 2,025 additional Connect points. Running until March 31, the Fast Track 2025 promotion offers members of Ideal Heating’s Connect Loyalty scheme the chance to earn additional Connect points by registering installations of Logic Max or Vogue Max boilers and Logic Air or HP290 heat pumps. For every five registered products, installers will earn an additional 675 Connect points up to a maximum
achievable additional Connect points of 2,025. This bonus is awarded in addition to the regular points installers already earn through the Connect scheme, and all qualifying members will have their points credited as soon as they meet each milestone.
