A PERSONAL SEARCH FOR AN ALTERNATIVE TO SALT-WATER SOFTENERS HAS EVOLVED INTO A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY FOR DROGHEDA PLUMBER AARON LEDDY… ‘AQUABION® has been a game changer in my own home’ Impressed by great results after installing the AQUABION® in his own home, RGI- registered Aaron Leddy from Lexington Plumbing and Heating has since become an Ireland ambassador for the water treatment system. Developed by CEO Marc Flettner in 2003, AQUABION® is an environmentally- friendly water treatment designed to reduce limescale build-up and corrosion problems in plumbing systems and appliances across domestic, commercial and industrial properties. Aaron talked to Ireland’s Plumbing & Heating Magazine about how he got involved with the brand: HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT AQUABION®? My partner had got lovely blond highlights in her hair, but within a few days they turned a green colour. Eventually we determined a salt-water softener we installed the year before had reacted with the chemicals in her hair and was also aggravating her psoriasis. In my research to find an alternative softener, I came across AQUABION® and got in contact. After about two days, my partner’s hair was a lot better and her skin wasn’t as red after showering. Our dishes were also sparkling like never before. When I contacted Marc and told him about the results, he asked if I had any interest in partnering with AQUABION® in my area to do installations. HOW MANY UNITS HAVE YOU INSTALLED TO DATE? I have installed over 150 AQUABION® to date, including 15 during January alone, mostly for domestic customers. I’ve removed 45 salt-water softeners in favour of AQUABION®, with customers fed up with the expense of the salt-water system averaging €300 per year and the space it takes up.
