Mr. James Cross indicates this, when he writes: ‘When we find Britain su preme in Egypt, as today, (writing some years ago), and at a time when all Gentile supremacy must he rapidly approaching, we see at once that this supremacy of Britain there, being likely to he persisted in, must associate the British Empire with the judgments that have yet to be poured out upon Egypt. Reading thus the prophecies relating to Egypt, we see that Britain and all the nations that shall he in alliance with her at that time, must share in a more or less degree in the coming judgments of Egypt. And seeing this, we shall also see that it was by design on the part of the prophets that they linked the past and the future of Egypt together, so as to make its final judgments coin cide with the time of the overthrow of all Gentile dominion, thus projecting and winding up its closing history in the Day of the Lord.’ “ But all of this will lead in the end to special blessing of Egypt; it seems that North and South will be the headed-up powers in a great and awful struggle of all the world powers; yet in the end, the North and South will be blessed with Israel in the Land of Pal estine, although the King of the North comes to an untimely end (Daniel 11:45) among men.” The Roman Empire There are some interesting develop ments growing out of the recent Genoa Conference. to the careful student of Bible prophecy. In his Divinely-inspired explanation of Nebuchadnezzar’s image, Daniel gives a political forecast covering history from that day until ‘the end,’ and his tory shows how, stage by stage, the pro gramme has been fulfilled in four great world-empires, and the dividing up of the fourth (the Roman) first into two, and then into several sections, until the final stage is reached of some kind of ten-kingdomed confederacy. Now, Russia and Germany never formed part of the Roman Empire, so that,, if this interpretation proves correct, they will never be in the League of Nations, which will include Britain and France. It is probable, therefore, that we are now witnessing the struggle which will result in the Latin nations being confederated against those northern Powers, and there are many who believe that the latter (Germany and Russia) will have something to do at any rate with the ‘king of the North,’ who will swoop down upon Palestine. We would fur ther direct attention to the remarka ble fact that there have been ten Allies conferring together again at Genoa and one of the London papers contained a big heading, ‘Mr. Lloyd George’s Talk to the Big Ten.’ Why ten? For the same reason that it was a Grand Com mittee of Ten which drafted the Peace Terms at Versailles. Here, surely is the fulfillment of the symbol of the ‘ten toes’ and ‘ten horns’ in Daniel’s proph ecy. It is an impressive sign of the im minent return of our Lord to take the reins of world-government.” The North Country Concerning the Germany-Russla pact the London Christian has the following to say: “ Military agreement has been signed between Germany and Russia.
