T H E K I N G ’S B U S I N E S S went by and from time to time much prayer was offered on her behalf, and as occasion offered she would be persuaded to attend our Jewish Bible Class, where she would hear other Jews tell how they came to accept Christ as their Saviour. During all this period she would round ly abuse her husband for believing in Jesus Christ and would interfere with his H . With the opening of new shops and factories here in the city, the work has increased to such large proportions that by the first of June we had some ninety men under our direct supervision carrying the Gos pel to the men in the industrial centers of the city! Thousands of men hear the Gospel message every week through our work who would never hear it otherwise, for ninety-seven per cent of them never darken a church door. The Gospel still changes men. Praise God for that. The other day at one of the shops a testimony meeting was held and those who had been saved were given an opportunity to testify. Some fourteen of these men stood, and before their fel low workmen, testified to the saving pow-

purpose to attend meetings, thinking thereby to discourage him altogether, but God’s Spirit was moving upon her heart, and like Paul of old, “It was hard for her to kick against the pricks.” Finally after months of struggling and fighting and after hours of pleading with her to de cide the greatest of all questions, she received the Lord Jesus as her Saviour. in shops, factories, car-barns and fire-engine Los Angeles. er of Jesus. These same men, not satis fied with one meeting a week, have start ed a Bible class among themselves and with one of their own number as teacher they are meeting one day a week to study the Word! Ts it worth while? Yes, by all means! •In one of the shops some two years ago we met one of the hardest men we have ever seen. We were told his wife had been praying for him for years. God has been blessing the Word. Today he is tender towards the Gospel, attends every meeting and only the other day, at a song service, he called for his favorite hymn, and guess what it was—“Almost Per suaded!5’ Thank God, there are lots of them like this one. The Gospel changes them, “For we persuade men.” Pray for us. cording to his own testimony had only hate and murder in his heart toward us. He hated God and all that was good in religion.
