If you think you might enjoy being part of the Sew ’ N Such Club, please join us in the West Room in El Saguaro or contact us via email at orpssewnsuch@gmail.com. We are a creative club and provide inspiration for each other. All levels of expertise are welcome!
It has been another creative season for the Sew ’ n Such Club. Many beautiful quilts, bags, and table runners have been created, just to name a few. Our successful fund raising has enabled us to donate $3,500 to Shelter from the Storm, the only shelter for the abused in the Coachella Valley, and $4,500 to Samaritan ’ s Purse for the LA fires. This wouldn ’ t be possible without the partnership between the Sew ’ n Such Club and the ORPS community - way to go ORPS! As the season ends the ORPS Sew ’ n Such Club is still busy learning new techniques such as using the 10 Sisters Easy Piecing Grid and enjoying each other ’ s company at a Saturday PJ party. April ’ s Spotlight is on Joanne Roberts. Joanne and her husband Brian are from Chetwynd, BC, where they raised their three daughters. They now have 8 grandsons and only 1 granddaughter who lives in Australia with her brother, mom and dad. Joanne and Brian spent 4 years in Las Vegas after retiring in 2010. They then spent time travelling around the southern US until they discovered ORPS in February 2020, buying their lot only 3 weeks after arriving in the resort. Joanne has been sewing for most of her life but started quilting 25 years ago when her friend was worried she was soon to become a bored empty nester and talked her into quilting. Joanne has sewn many beautiful items since and is a very active member in the Sew ’ n Such Club. Thank you for all you do Joanne.
May you all enjoy the summer months and safe travels to wherever your journey takes you. We look forward to seeing everyone next season.
