Charles Taine OF BLESSED MEMORY

Charles Taine was born on January 10, 1913 in Vienna, Austria. When he came to America, he lived in New York and served as an officer in the United States Army during World War II. Afterwards, he attended Columbia Law School where he graduated in the top 10% of his class. Charles was then hand-picked to work at the law firm of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan in Manhattan. Charles was married to a woman,

Frances, who was also extremely accomplished. During a time when women didn’t have the right to vote, Frances attended college and became a physician, a family practitioner. She also wrote poetry. The Taines moved to Miami and Charles continued working at the same law firm. He had first contacted the Greater Miami Jewish Federation when his wife became ill with Alzheimer’s and was no longer able to care for her by himself. Charles and Frances then moved into Douglas Gardens at Miami Jewish
