Letters Home Hills Bank in Hills (131 E. Main St) Wednesday, February 6, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

In 1942, Paul Goodrich, age 30, was drafted from the cornfields of Iowa to the battlefields of WWII. His letters came home every week until he returned in 1945. His parents kept each letter, each picture, and souvenirs bundled in a green metal cracker box—safe for posterity. Paul’s stories of WWII, including his thoughts, his experiences, and his strong desire to be home on the farm were tempered by a firm dedication to his country. Collected with other WWII artifacts, Paul’s story becomes very personal and very real, reminding us of all those who have sacrificed to preserve the good of mankind under the worst conditions: war. Join our speaker Jeanine Redlinger as she shares Paul’s stories. Register with Kelsey Redlinger at 319-679-2128 or Kelsey_Redlinger@HillsBank.com.
