Florence Fink OF BLESSED MEMORY
Florence Fink was a great lady who made a profound impact on all who were lucky enough to know her. She shared her love with her children, grandchildren, relatives and friends in very special ways. Florence’s friend Ruth Cohen said her name suited her perfectly. Like “Florence Nightingale, she was there for everyone who needed her.” Florence always looked for and found the best in people. She found
the right reasons for people’s actions and ascribed the best motives to them. She had a keen mind, was well informed, was a great listener and had a great sense of humor. Florence was a loyal supporter of the Jewish Federation and myriad other charities for all of her adult life. Before there was even an official Lion of Judah Endowment (LOJE) program, Florence endowed her Lion of Judah gift by creating a fund in her lifetime that would perpetuate a gift in her name forever.
Florence’s fund of $100,000 was invested to yield income that is paid annually in her honor to the Federation campaign. Florence was kind, loving and gentle, but she was a fierce lion when it came to protecting and defending the Jewish people. Her memory will live in love forever at the Federation.
