Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” July 29, 1956 A L esson on L aw OBJECTS: Ten matches and a board with 10 nail holes in it. LESSON: As we name each of the 10 commandments, I will place these 10 matches in this board. Now I want

they have the knowledge of Jesus Christ and the entire Bible to encour age them in giving. God is pleased with our lives when we are cheerful givers, giving our lives and our means to further the work of Christ, i July 15, 1956 T abernacle T eaching OBJECTS: A sheet of white paper and a powerful electric bulb. (Roughly sketch on the paper the outline of the tabernacle and court, showing the po sitions of the articles of furniture. It will be observed that the articles of furniture form the shape of a cross. The brazen altar, the laver, the altar of incense, and the ark of the cove nant make the upright of the cross. The line from the table of shewbread to the candlestick makes the horizon tal part of a cross. Draw the outline of a cross around these articles of fur- niture with lemon juice or with 10 drops of sulphuric acid diluted with 25 drops of water.) LESSON: This sheet of white paper has the floor plan of the tabernacle on it. Some people say that they see nothing in the tabernacle which interests them. They need the help of the Guide. Christ said that the Holy Spirit would guide the Christian into all truth. We will let this electric bulb remind us of the Holy Spirit. As it shines into the tabernacle, we can see something new. (Wrap the paper around the bulb, and the heat will cause the invisible cross to appear.) It is a cross, reminding us of the cross on which Jesus died for us. The furniture in the tabernacle was placed in the shape of a cross. Centuries be fore crucifixion was used as a form of punishment, God knew that His Son Jesus Christ would die on a cross. As the Holy Spirit guides us, we will see wonderful things in the tabernacle. As we look at the door of the tabernacle, we find that it showed the colors blue, purple and scarlet. Blue suggested that Christ would come from heaven, purple that He would be a King, and scarlet that He would shed His blood on the cross.

OBJECT: A paper telescope. (Use a piece of adding machine paper 2 % inches wide by 5 feet long. Roll tightly until the diameter is approxi mately il /2 inches. Paste the end of the paper on the outside to keep it from unrolling. Print a large “ 0 ” on the roll. Wet your finger, place it on the inside of the roll, and pull down until the telescope is approximately 18 inches long. Print down from the “ O” on every other layer of paper the letters “bey,” which will complete the word “ Obey.” Push the telescope back together, and pull it out in the opposite t direction. With the small end down, print as before, the letters “ kay,” completing the word “ Okay.” Mark the roll so the paper will be pulled the correct way.) LESSON: The “ 0 ” on this roll of paper reminds us of one of the most im portant words in the Bible. Perhaps some have already guessed the word. I will pull on the paper, making it into a telescope, and we shall see the word. The word “ Obey” appears. We are reminded of God’s words to the chil dren of Israel in Exodus 19:5,-6. After reading this great command ment and the promises which go with it, we can realize why obedience is so very important. The writer of Prov erbs tells us," “ Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reprpach to any people” (Prov. 14:34). Moses was told by the Lord to de liver the message on obedience to the

to tell you a story. Mrs. Jones had been noticing that her son, David, was walking home from school with Bill, a very bad boy. She explained that it was harmful for a boy who was trying to do right to have as a pal a boy who was always doing wrong. One Sunday afternoon David asked for permission to go walking with Jimmy, one of the finest fellows in his class. As soon as he was out of his mother’s sight, David turned toward Bill’s home. What commandment had he broken? The fifth says, “ Honour thy father and thy mother,” and the ninth says, “Thou shalt not bear false witness.” We will break the fifth and the ninth matches representing the commandments that David broke. Bill was at the gate waiting for David and they started immediately for the swimming pool with Bill’s gang. What other commandment was David breaking? Yes, the fourth “ Re member the sabbath day, to keep it holy.” We will break the fourth match. David was not in the habit of swearing but his shoestring broke as he was taking off his shoes and he took God’s name in, vain. He broke the third commandment and we will break the third match. In one after noon he had broken six of the 10 commandments. These matches were not made to be broken but to give a light. God gave the law to show men what He re quired, that they might realize their hopelessness of keeping the law and then accept Christ as Saviour, the one who kept the law perfectly. When we realize that we have broken God’s law, we should come to Christ, con fess that we have sinned and ask Him to cleanse us from all sin. END.

children of Israel. In Exodus 19:8, we learn their answer. With this in mind, let us see whether we can make this “ 0 ” tell us of something else. We will turn it over, and again pull on the paper. We now see the word “ Okay” which is a present-day way of saying what Is rael said when they agreed to obey God’s commandments. The blessing of God rests upon those who are willing to obey His commandments. Today a very im portant command to obey is found in Acts 16:31, “ Believe on the Lord
