• Wildcat Success Days – face-to-face opportunities to remind high-need students about the many resources available to support their academic success and connectedness to the CWU community Ongoing and planned programming includes the following: • Expanded Learning Commons tutoring and Supplemental Instruction (Fall 2018 onward) • Creation of a new Health and Wellness unit bringing together the Student Medical and Counseling Clinic, the Wellness Center, and the Department of Recreation and reporting to the new Associate Dean of Health and Wellness (Winter 2019) • Peer Academic Success Coaching for first-year students on academic warning or academic probation (Winter 2019) • ASL and Faculty Senate Academic Advising Council formation with scheduled open forums to discuss potential revised and new advising models (Winter 2019) • Transfer and Transition Center development (Winter 2019 for Fall 2019 implementation) • Developmental English Bridge Program modeled on the successful Developmental Math Bridge Program (Fall 2019) Strategic Investment Projects: ASL has also committed approximately $637,000 to fund six new programs and provide increased funding to five existing programs – all designed to promote recruitment, retention, and degree completion and focused largely on students with the five characteristics associated with attrition. In addition to the College of Arts and Humanities and Student Success Developmental English Bridge Program, these new programs include: College of Business Peer Advising; College of Arts and Humanities Liberal Arts Plus; College of the Sciences Law and Justice Department Latinx Recruitment and Retention; College of Education and Professional Studies Elementary Education Redesign; and Student Success Diversity and Inclusion Outreach. Strategic Investment funding is also supporting the enhancement of ongoing programs focused on, for example, tutoring expansion, mental health counseling, and student access to resources for the new General Education Program.
