Washington State Higher Education Outlook Washington continues to experience population growth. The state’s economic growth is expected to exceed national economic growth, although there is uncertainty due to changes in trade and fiscal policy. Job growth is projected to continue.
The average personal income is projected to increase by 5.1% from 2018-2021, which will not keep up with the expected increase of ____ % the cost of higher education.
The changes in numbers and shift in the ethnicity of high school graduates at the national level are amplified at the state level. The below reveals a changing profile of the Washington high school graduate over the next ten years. The number of Hispanic graduates is expected to increase by 72%, from 12,068 in 2015-16 to a projected 20,762.
