the estate is compliant with statute in relation to Health and Safety, in collaboration with the Health and Safety department and supporting the Director in providing advice to the Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Governors. 6. Lead and take overall responsibility for the Business Support team, Systems Management and the provision of data. Coordinate and deliver the continued development and integration of department systems to enhance the management of the estate. 7. Lead and take responsibility for the Property team, including all landlord and tenant work, commercial negotiations and associated work. 8. Lead and take responsibility for the Riseholme Park operations. Including the farm, wider rural estate and the Grounds team. 9. Provide leadership to all staff in the department. Ensure that skill and competency levels are appropriate, developed or acquired and the importance of learning and professional development is emphasised. 10. Represent the University in relevant national and regional networks and on associated professional bodies. KEY RESPONSIBILTIES Managing People and Resources • Provide long-term planning and management of resources. • Take high level responsibility for all Estate department finances, expenditure and income. • Take responsibility, via direct reports, of local level budgets including Property, Riseholme, Systems/Business Support and Compliance. • Provide leadership to all Estates staff and ensure that different teams work effectively together to deliver the highest standards of service. • Undertake line management for key colleagues within Compliance, Property, Riseholme and Systems/Business Support teams. Communication • Be routinely involved in complex and important negotiations and communications internally and with external bodies. • Deliver presentations and briefings to a variety of different audiences, including the Senior Leadership Team.

Teamwork and collaborative working • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with key external stakeholders and agencies to enable the progression of estates plans and developments. • Ensure that the Estates team consistently work collaboratively with Colleges and other University departments. • Lead and support the teams that report to the Deputy Director within the Estates Department, encouraging continued personal development for all team members. Initiative, problem solving and decision making • Provide advice to the Senior Leadership Team on strategic issues relating to estates and facilities. • Influence University decisions through providing professional expertise and leading or participating in relevant committees, consultations, steering groups and project groups. • Act with a high degree of autonomy in judgement and action in implementing University strategy. • Manage and resolve complex problems which impact the University as a whole, related to the estate and delivery of services.
