C’est dimanche dernier que s’est déroulée la troisième Guignolée de Casselman. Plus d’une centaine de bénévoles se sont présentés pour aller recueillir des denrées non-périssables chez quelque 1500 résidents. La présidente de la Guignolée, Michelle Houle, s’est dite très heureuse du nombre de participants cette année. La Banque alimentaire a dressé une liste des familles à qui seront distribuées les denrées récoltées le 19 décembre prochain à l’Église Ste-Euphémie. Ci-dessus, certains des bénévoles se préparent à prendre la route. Au centre, la présidente Michelle Houle.

This will also be the 35th year the #re department has given Santa Claus a lift around Russell this Christmas Eve. Young authors award CANDICE VETTER CANDICE.VETTER@EAP.ON.CA The Province of Ontario announces the Young Authors Award, for which submissions are due by December 12, 2014, and the winner will be an- nounced at the Speaker’s Book Award ceremony in March, 2015. A news release from MPP Grant Crack states the Speaker’s Book Award was launched in 2012 by the Honorable Dave Levac, Speaker of the Legislative Assem- bly of Ontario. The competition recog- nizes Ontario authors whose works re- %ect the diverse culture and rich history of our province. This year the Speaker an- nounced an additional award to honour young Ontario writers. The Young Authors Award will be given to a published Ontario author be- tween the ages of 18 to 30 whose work o"ers a youthful perspective to Ontario’s writing scene. Submitted books may be on any subject matter including #ction, non-#ction, poetry or graphic novels; however, special consideration will be given to works centering on the prov- ince’s history, culture and diversity.
