Duramax 3167 was our pick at the 2024 Pieper Red Angus Spring sale. We were on the hunt to find a powerful bull that would inject some growth along with carcass all while having a dam that does a great job year after year. From what we’ve seen, he’s the best Maximus E294 son we’ve seen thus far and after weaning his first set of calves, we feel we’ve made a good decision. We can already see that his calves are going to rise to the top when it comes to weaning and yearling wt. and after seeing some of the weaned females, they are going to make some good ones. Duramax’s, Pie Just Right 540 dam, is maintaining a 106 MPPA on 4 calves thus far and on those calves has ratioed well above avg for BW. WW, YW, IMF and REA. It seems we are having a tough time finding a power bull that will give us the maternal, growth, carcass and a little more birth weight, which I believe our breed needs a bit more of, and you can find all those things with Duramax 3167.
