Peterson The aim of this volume is to help every C h r i s t i a n to become better acquainted with the Father-God. This purpose is carried out in fourteen short, outlined chapters, each illus trated by personal and other timfely incidents. Some of the chapter head ings are: “God? Why?” “A God with a Face,” “How Do We Know God Loves Us?” “A ' G o d Who Forgets,” and “Thou, God, Seest Me!” The author feels keenly the help lessness a n d hopelessness of the world apart from God. His desire that men might find their salvation and satisfaction in God is manifested throughout this work. He shows that the only remedy for the sin question is to be found in the Lord of Calvary. 116 pages. Zondervan Pub. House, Grand Rapids, Mich. Cloth. Price $1. Living By Norman B. Gil Dodds: Flying Parson By Mel Larson

Winner of the Sullivan Award for being “the athlete who had done most for sports in -1943,” and adjudged at the end of 1944 as the world’s out standing track athlete, Gil Dodds is first and emphatically a Christian. He prays before he runs in any race; he has never raced on Sunday; he gives God the glory for •all his successes and acknowledges that even the fail ures were made profitable to him. Here is a testimony for Christ that young people will listen to; for it is written expertly and with fine spiritual sensitivity by one who for three years covered track, football, golf, baseball, hockey and other sports; at the Univer sity of Minnesota for the Minneapolis Morning Tribune, and who is now associate editor of the Evangelical Beacon. There .are twenty-five pictures in the book: some of them of Gunder Hagg and Arne Andersson of Sweden, with whom Dodds raced. 96 pages. Evangelical Beacon, 4211 N. Hermitage Ave., Chicago 13, 111. Cloth. Price $1.25. Chaplain Harte was wounded in the Philippines and sent home to die. He experienced instead a more abundant life than he ever before had known, for he found Christ as his Saviour. His health, too, was restored. It was through the writer, t h i n k e r , and nature-lover, Bruce Byron, that the chaplain learned some of his deepest lessons.
