The word Fratelli means ‘Brothers’ and refers to the coming together of three pairs of brothers from the Secci, Sekhri and Mohite-Patil families. The combination of Indian and Italian partners parallels their aim of producing international standard wines made in India using centuries old Italian winemaking traditions. 240 acres of vineyards are overseen at Fratelli at their winemaking facility in Akluj, a town 170kms south of Pune.

Judges Comments A distinctive definition of this varietal which features some complexity and promises. The colour is bright, highlighted by a ruby tone whilst the nose is layered with smokey oak, red currants, baking spices and leather. The tannin profile is reflective of English black tea whilst the flavours are reflective of preserved plums.

Judges Comments Varietal and a good attempt at developing an early drinking style wine. Blushes of ruby on the eye, with a nose of wild currants, chocolate shavings. Oak use creates a slight imbalance of flavour but luckily the fruits are able to withstand the impact.
