Yatin and Kiran Patil, the husband and wife duo behind Reveilo, work on their 100 acre ancestral land in Nashik. Their first wine varietals were planted back in 2000. A technical collaboration with Italian group ‘Enofly’ has brought the winemaking procedures here to a modern level and progress in the wines as a result. The current wines are an expression of Italian head Chief Winemaker Andrea Valentinuzzi who comes with over 25 years of experience. The commitment to Italian varieties such as Sangiovese, Nero D’Avola and Grillo represent Reveilo’s vision of bringing authentic Italian origins to their Indian wines.

SILVER MEDAL: 90 points

Judges Comments A beautiful amber colour with a bright orange hue. Complexity is bountiful showing flavours of tea, raisins, orange peel and marmalade. Excellent acidity supports a sugary and viscous palate that carries a density of maple syrup. Clever management of the volatile acids provides a balance and expressive platform for all the great secondary complexities.

Reveilo, 2014 Grillo

BRONZE: 85 points

Judges Comments First time wine drinkers may find this wine difficult, but eclectic wine lovers will love the sulphide related characteristics of cane sugar, creamed corn, butter and steamed vegetables. A palate carries a hint of smokiness on the finish which is interestingly tied into a lemon-honey like sensation. A fun and approachable wine guaranteed to start discussion.
