ASCENSION PARISH
Ascension Parish held its second annual Advent by Candlelight, beginning with evening Mass and continuing with a “High Tea.” Fr John Gannon LC offered an introductory meditation, and Elizabeth Sanesh gave a lovely Advent reflection which was well received. Advent by Candlelight
Several Regnum Christi women were present, and the parish organizer, Debbie Parsons, included a mention of Regnum Christi in the Thank-yous; several parishioners wanted to know more about Regnum Christi. The evening ended with Eileen Coady’s daughter, Breanne offering a few songs.
in alignment with the Diocesan Renewal in Calgary, its priority is that Catholics of the diocese be ever more aware that they are called to “form Missionary Disciples.” This will offer Regnum Christi members the opportunity to share its charism, formation, and spiritual gifts with our fellow Catholics in Calgary. Over the course of the upcoming year, Fr. John Gannon, LC and Fr. John (JP) Luxbacher, LC will integrate the teachings from Fr. John Bartunek’s book, “ 60 Days to Becoming a Missionary Disciple,” into their weekend homilies. In pursuit of enhancing the coordination of formation opportunities and cultivating Missionary awareness at Ascension Parish, Michelle Hoffmann has graciously taken on the responsibility of overseeing parish programs and Evangelization initiatives. Her involvement comes at a crucial time as the Parish embarks on the implementation of the Diocesan Renewal and establishes its new Mission Statement, focusing on the formation of Missionary Disciples.
