Fire Performance Meeting fire regulations with R-MER Shield
Approved Document B explains how to fulfil the requirements for fire safety in the Building Regulations. The 2019 update banned combustible materials in or on external walls of the newly defined 'Relevant Buildings'
Relevant Buildings
This is any building that is 18 meters above ground level and contains one or more dwellings, an institution, or a room for residential purposes. In fact, for all intents and purposes, no residential building above 11 metres from ground level can now use any combustible materials in or on external walls. R-MER Shield meets the relevant requirements of the current Part B building regulations and can be used unrestricted and is therefore suitable to use on Relevant Buildings. R-MER Shield uses A1 fire classified insulation and and can provide profiles of up to A1 certified to BS EN 13501-1 standard.
