FANCOURT’S NEW 9-HOLE COURSE Fancourt will be opening in

October a new full-sized 9-hole course constructed on the site of the old Bramble Hill course. Work began last spring. A feature is a large dam close to The Links at Fancourt clubhouse. The 9-holer was designed by Sean Quinn (Jack Nicklaus Design), whose previous work for Golf Data included Katberg, Clarens and The Club at Steyn City. Earthworks are by George-based contractor Philip Basson. “The 9-holer has a links theme to the design, with long grass and mounding, and extra tees will be built so it can be played as a Par 3 layout,” said Basson. Five new holes, on undulating land alongside The Links, were built, and four existing Bramble Hill holes repurposed.
