A different club heads up each, with Western Cape supplying the No 1s in Range Facility, 19th Hole and Course Etiquette. Gauteng had two No 1s in Halfway House and Locker Room, East- ern Cape two No 1s in Service and Pace of Play, and Southbroom in KZN the No 1 Pro Shop, owned and managed by Derek and Sheena James. Just six clubs appear in the top 10 of at least 50% of the categories – Blair Atholl, Bryanston, Country Club Johan- nesburg, Leopard Creek, The Club at Steyn City, and The Links at Fancourt. The categories are self-explanatory, apart from course etiquette which measures course housekeeping. Do golfers fulfil their obligation in raking bunkers, filling divots, repairing pitch marks? Are there enough bunker rakes and are flagsticks in good condition? Is the course property kept clean of litter?
