Treftz Limousin - Where Muscle Still Matters Limousin Bull & Female Sale [2/14/26]

A WORD FROM US

Dear Friends and Cattlemen,

Welcome to our annual Where Muscle Still Matters production sale. We are in an industry where we have a lot to be thankful for and there is a ton of enthusiasm going forward. Technology has arrived where cattle with Red Meat Yield (RMY) are going to be the name of the game. Treftz Limousin bulls fit these criteria perfectly when it comes to rib-eye size, muscle, yield, and efficiency. On top of that, many of our bulls carry both copies of the F94L myostatin gene which is also a muscle and tenderness indicator. I hope you enjoy our catalog. It is a labor of love, work, and our unwavering passion for Limousin cattle for over 40 years. We have listened to you, our customers, as to the kind of cattle you want us to produce. The following several pages are a testament to that commitment to you and the breed. Our success is totally reliant on yours. Our pasture is our show ring. The bulls are weaned and within a week are back out on pasture for development and conditioning. They are not pampered, have never been near a show halter, or special show feed. We don’t have any trophies or banners hanging in our barn or any blowers to fluff hair. What you see, is what you get, and what you get are seedstock meant to go from our ranch to yours, get the job done and maintain their condition doing it. From many of the reports we continue to receive, they are getting that job accomplished. Our cowherd is rigorously fined tuned annually for performance of their calf, disposition, or lack of muscle. Because of those strict standards, only two purebred bull calves were steered in 2025. One had navel infection early in life and the other didn’t “meat” the muscle required to stay intact. Good cattle make you money, the rest cost you. In today’s world of high costs, one cannot be in the business of mediocrity. If there’s anything you want to know about an individual animal in the sale, reach out to me prior to the sale. I breed them, calve them, feed them, picture, and video them. I can give you my honest view on each animal, good or bad. For an objective opinion, reach out to Kiley or our sale management team and they can help you out as well. Our sale day might not coincide with the day you have the funds. If this is the case, reach out to us a few days prior to the sale so we can work out something that works for you to get your animal purchased. We stress that if you buy any bred heifers, they need to be moved on sale day or soon after as some are close to calving. Outside of the yearling bulls, we would like to move out the rest of the sale cattle as soon as possible as well. We are very proud and excited to present the rewards of this year’s hard work. Countless man hours are clocked for sale preparation. Pictures tell you something, videos tell you more, but viewing them in person tells you everything. Join us on February 14, the one opportunity of the year to invest in our genetics. When the ship’s in the dock, board it.

The Treftz Family offers our heartfelt thanks. This success would not be possible without your continued support.

Sincerely,

Glenn Treftz
