Indianapolis, Indiana-based PRP has become the first graphics business in NorthAmerica to invest in Optics 100v2, the new fastest single head plate imager from Esko. The brand and plate solutions provider has taken de- livery of a new Esko CDI Spark 5080 digital flexo im- ager,which features a new, unique, and patented single head imaging technology. Delivering a 25 percent in- crease in productivity for corrugated plate imagers, ac- cording to the manufacturer, the Optics 100v2 speed and quality option is the latest addition to the Esko CDI range. The Optics 100v2 features a new imaging setup that enables plate makers to obtain one more full 5080 (50- inch x 80-inch, or 127cm x 203cm) sheet per hour from their CDI and reportedly achieve a 100 percent increase in productivity on partial plates. ProAmpac Acquires Rapid Action Packaging ProAmpac has acquired Rapid Action Packaging (RAP), a private, UK-based manufacturer of cellu- lose-based packaging products for fresh prepared and ready-to-eat foods. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. RAP is a leading designer and manufacturer of sus- tainable packaging for fresh prepared foods sold at re- tail, including sandwiches, wraps, chicken tenders and salads. With this acquisition, ProAmpac expands its manu- facturing capabilities to produce primary packaging for ready-to-eat and fresh prepared foods, broadening its sustainable product offering for retail food markets. Cincinnati, Ohio-based ProAmpac is owned by Pritz- ker Private Capital along with management and other co-investors. With the addition of RAP,ProAmpac has 37 sites glob- ally,with nearly 4,800 employees supplying more than 5,000 customers in 90 countries.

Fortis Facility Achieves Sustainable Certification
Fortis Solutions Group LLC, a portfolio company of Main Post Partners and a provider of labels, flexible packaging, shrink sleeves, cartons, and applicators, reported that its flexible packaging and label facility in Merced, CA received certification as a Sustainable Green Printer (SGP) from the third-party organization the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership.
