Longer rods are made from two or more sections of raw material (wood, metal, bamboo, etc.), spliced together structurally and finished to look and function as one continuous rod. The splice usually occurs at the center and should be supported with a bracket. We recommend a support bracket every 4 to 6 feet (depending on the weight of the drapes) and under each point at which rods are joined with a connector.

TIPS FOR SAVING ON SHIPPING FEES

Buy smaller rods 104" or less and join them onsite using a connector, especially when using center draw and/or stationary panels. A support bracket will be needed where you join the rod. Other support brackets may be needed as well depending on the length of the rod and the weight of the drapes.
