With a new year upon us, now is the perfect time to make resolutions for more movement. Stuck for ideas? Here are 10 resolutions to elevate your fitness—and health— in the new year. #1 Move Five Days a Week Break the recommended 150 minutes of moderate- intensity weekly exercise into 5 days of 30-minute chunks. Two of those days should also include a full- body strength session.
Now Recruiting: Wellness Champions Looking to get more involved and make a meaningful impact at PulteGroup? The Wellness Champions Network (WCN) is seeking employees who are passionate about promoting healthy habits, connection, and engagement across their teams. Wellness Champions help share wellness resources, support company-wide initiatives, and serve as a local point of connection for wellbeing efforts. If you’re interested in joining the network, complete the Wellness Champions Network application or reach out to Brandyn Baker, Health Promotion Specialist, at brandyn.baker@pultegroup.com to learn more. #2 Join a Gym A gym can provide tools to help you stay fit: equipment, personal trainers, exercise classes, and pools. Look for a gym that’s within your budget. If you’re looking for extra support, One Pass Select is available as a resource to help you find fitness options that fit your needs. #3 Work Out in The Morning Start your day with your workout, before you get busy with other things. And here’s an added bonus: Research suggests early sweat sessions boost focus and healthy food choices.

Rally Engage is now called Optum Engage , continuing to provide the same wellness platform with a refreshed name and enhanced incentives. If you previously created an account, there’s nothing new you need to do—your existing login and website access remain the same, so you can pick up right where you left off. The biggest updates are to the incentive structure. While the annual maximum remains $250 , employees can now earn $125 for completing a wellness exam and receive incentives for mission challenges each quarter at $20 per quarter instead of annually. Optum Engage is available to employees, spouses, and dependents age 18 and older, with incentives available to employees only. Rally Engage Has Transitioned to Optum Engage
#4 Try Something New Refresh your routine with new activities. Take a new exercise class or ask a friend to start working out with you a couple times each week. #5 Find Community Start or join an exercise group, such as a walking club. You and your new friends can cheer each other on, making it easier to stick with goals. #6 Touch Your Toes Build a stretching habit. Greater flexibility can help you move more freely in your daily life, such as when you look over your shoulder as your back up your car, or when you bend down to tie your shoes.

#7 Set Clear Goals Giving yourself challenging goals can generate the motivation you need to stay on track. But make sure they are realistic and specific. For example, don’t just aim to lift heavier weights. Give yourself a goal of working up to 10 repetitions over the course of 6 weeks with weights that are a certain amount heavier than you’re currently using.
