GIFTED EDUCATION The Logan School for Creative Learning The Face of

F ounded on the belief that gifted learners deserve an education as unique as they are, The Logan School for Creative Learning has been inspiring students since 1981. Located on a 13-acre campus in Denver’s Lowry neighborhood, Logan serves ap- proximately 240 students in grades K–8, with an average class size of 19 and a 6:1 student-to-teacher ratio. At the heart of Logan’s program is a simple but powerful mission: to culti- vate the curiosities of gifted children. Every student selects an area of study and co-designs personalized units with their teachers, allowing them to explore topics that matter to them—whether it’s prehistoric animals, aviation history, or urban planning. These “Rich Unit Experiences” integrate core academics, fieldwork, primary-source research,

and public presentations. Logan’s inquiry-based approach is both academically rigorous and joyfully creative, balancing deep thinking with hands-on projects. Environmental education, curiosity, and real-world engagement are woven into the daily experience, helping students grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally. Logan faculty are intellectually curious, life-long learners themselves. Staff are encouraged to seek professional devel- opment opportunities that enrich their skills and introduce promising practices to the broader team. Logan is accredited by both the Associ- ation of Colorado Independent Schools (ACIS) and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and is deeply committed to fostering an inclu- sive community where every student

and family feels seen, supported, and a true sense of belonging. Beyond the school day, middle school students can elect to participate in sports cross-country, volleyball, basket- ball, ultimate frisbee, and soccer. Launched in 2018, the Logan Learn- ing Lab is a free summer enrichment program designed to extend Logan’s student-driven model to gifted students from underrepresented communities across the Denver Metro area—offering joyful, immersive learning experiences beyond the academic year.
