2021 ELECTION SHEETS The LSMS will begin accepting nominations for general officers, board of governors, council on legislation and Louisiana AMA Delegation on May 1, 2021, for a period of 30 days. District and section elections will be held virtually in June as will any runoff elections if necessary. Other elections will be conducted in-person at the 2021 House of Delegates meeting. G ENERAL O FFICERS Qualifications : A general officer of the Society must have been an active member of the Society for at least three (3) years prior to his election, is not under suspension under any provision of these bylaws and has not been convicted of a crime under the laws of any jurisdiction in the United States, which constitutes a felony or for any crime which is related to the practice of medicine other than for a violation of a court order regarding the production of confidential medical records. A member of the Medical Student Section must be a medical student member of the Louisiana State Medical Society.
