The LSMS utilizes this 4 service in order to update and maintain our database as well as for recruitment purposes. She encouraged 5 any parish society to utilize this database as well . After much discussion related to the recommendations 6 of the task force and a resolution that would be discussed later in the day by the House of Delegates, the 7 board took no action. 10 Dr. Jeff White, fourth district councilor and a member of the LSMS’ AMA Delegation asked the board to 11 consider nominating Dr. Dan Sulmasy from Washington, DC to the AMA’s Council on Ethical and 12 Judicial Affairs otherwise known as CEJA. Dr. White went on to state that Dr. Sulmasy is a world-class 13 academic bioethicist who was trained by Dr. Ed Pellegrino, and who is the Acting Director of the Kennedy 14 Institute of Bioethics at Georgetown University. Dan is an AMA member who has testified in AMA 15 Reference Committees many times on ethical issues. He also serves as an editorial board member for 16 JAMA Internal Medicine. Additionally, he is the author of over 200 peer-reviewed articles. Dr. White 17 stated that in his eyes there is not another physician in the United States who is more qualified for a 18 position on CEJA. Dr. White then strongly encouraged the board to endorse Dr. Sulmasy’s nomination to 19 CEJA. AMA Delegation Acknowledgement Form

28 Mr. Williams reminded board members that at their September 18, 2019 meeting they passed a directive 29 that called for staff to develop an acknowledgement form that will be sent to all Louisiana delegates to the 30 AMA House of Delegates each year along with a copy of the LSMS Policy Manual. Additionally, the 31 board previously approved a policy where no delegate funding will be disbursed without the LSMS having 32 a signed acknowledgement that the delegate reviewed and is familiar with all current LSMS policies. Mr. 33 Williams then presented and reviewed the acknowledgement form with the board. After questions and 34 limited discussion, the following motion was made:

Multi-Employer 401K Plan

42 Mr. Williams briefly clarified an answer he provided at the December 11, 2019 board meeting in order to 43 make sure that everyone’s concerns and/or questions had been appropriately addressed prior to the LSMS 44 executing the new multi-employer 401K plan. The board took no new action and staff was directed to 45 continue moving forward on the new retirement plan benefit. 48 Mr. Williams asked the board if he could work on two updates to the Procedures of the Board of 49 Governors, which would include a draft conflict of interest policy, as well as, a policy for supporting board 50 46 47 Conflict of Interest Disclosure
