January 2020 Membership Update
5 Mr. Williams briefly reviewed a membership report for the time period covering 2016 to 2019, which 6 covers the years since local independence was approved by the House of Delegates. Ms. Terri Watson, 7 senior director of administration and member services, compiled the report as requested by R103-19 from 8 last year. The report showed that the aggregate membership amongst the remaining parish medical 9 societies had decreased by 14% while LSMS membership had increased by 18% during the same time 10 period. Mr. Williams also stated that in the last several weeks since the data for the report was compiled, 11 the LSMS had some significant membership wins, which pushed the membership increase between 2016 12 and January 2020 from 18% to 30% growth excluding residents, fellows and medical students. Mr. 13 Williams further stated that hard copies would be distributed to every member of the House of Delegates 14 later in the day.
