10 11 3. The LSMS should rename/rebrand the Educational and Research Foundation as “the LSMS 12 Foundation.” 13 14 4. The LSMS should consolidate the Educational and Research Foundation’s investment accounts 15 into a single account to achieve additional economies of scale. 16 17 5. The LSMS should development of a mechanism for collective bargaining. After receiving 18 approval from the BOG, an agreement to enter a Physicians’ Buying Group (PBG) was executed 19 on August 12, 2020 in furtherance of achieving this goal. The agreement was entered into with 20 Live Oak Purchasing, which provides e-procurement, product aggregation and group purchasing 21 services and consulting support to clients interested in aggregating, modernizing and 22 streamlining their collaborative procurement activities. If/when the contract is approved LSMS 23 will promote the products available through this buying group to our members and will receive 24 5% of gross vendor fees collected.

Examples of the types of products and services Live Oak will be targeting includes: vaccine discount programs, health insurance plans, medical supplies, surgical supplies, medical waste disposal/removal, office supplies, office furniture, practice management software, telemedicine solutions, payroll administration, housekeeping supplies, IT/telecom equipment, mobile phone services, HR/Temporary staffing services and travel programs (including air, hotel and rental
car).
32 33 After much discussion, board members felt items #1 increased oversight of the HPFLA, and #5 34 development of a collective bargaining entity should be considered work in progress that has already 35 been approved and we should continue moving forward and report any progress, issues, etc. directly 36 back to the Board of Governors.
