JANUARY 2026

Growing Together With You

BIG CHALLENGES, BIGGER REWARDS

A Spectacular Year for Our Firm

added 1,200 five-star reviews across the internet, which is amazing. While 2024 was a starting point, 2025 was when the results of all our hard work really kicked in. We met many new challenges in 2025, not only on behalf of our clients, but for ourselves. We all challenged ourselves to get better, not only in our work lives, but in our personal lives. We are now using software to track our goals and accomplishments on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. The best part: We are holding each other accountable, not only within our individual estate planning, bankruptcy, and personal injury teams, but also throughout the firm as a whole. The results have been nothing short of spectacular. Now, everybody can look back and see where they started in 2025 and where they ended, and appreciate the differences we’ve achieved. This has been a major step forward. It’s been great to see our plans come together. These gains didn’t come without challenges. As in any business, we have had expansion pains, and we have had contraction pains. And that’s okay. You don’t get the kind of momentum we’ve achieved without really digging in and firing on all cylinders. Many people fear the unknown and worry about what their friends are going to think. Frankly, we can’t be concerned about what other people think. If we allowed ourselves

to worry about that, we never would have changed anything. Instead, we have stayed focused on getting results. At the same time, it’s okay to be afraid when you take on new challenges. It’s okay to be a little scared. But it’s also okay to push yourself. I believe that when you invest in yourself, you are always going to reap the rewards. Always. It takes a lot of work to get everybody in the firm rowing in the same direction when you have three separate teams, each with a different agenda. But when you know everybody around you is doubling down on their goals, you’re not going to let down your coworkers. And once everybody around you is pulling in the same direction, work becomes inspiring. In 2025, we were able to make major advances toward sustaining those achievements, and we are very proud of our progress. For ourselves and for the firm, the results have been nothing short of spectacular. Altogether, 2025 was the best of times, and the worst of times. I can’t wait to see what 2026 holds.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

That opening line from a Charles Dickens novel is a perfect description of the past year at Dellutri Law Group. 2025 was a year to remember! Many things have changed in the past year. My Relationship to My Clients Is What’s Important WHAT TRULY MATTERS

It Matters.

very often) they seem to complain a lot about their practices and their clients. I don’t do that. As a matter of fact, I cannot understand why they would continue doing what they do day in and day out if they hate it so much. Each day I think about the path that our clients are on, and how our firm and our people impact their path for the better. So, when I sit down to respond to phone calls and emails, I always want to remind myself of how blessed I am and how much this phone call or email might mean to this other person. I remember one client who called me when his wife became very ill, and he cried on the phone while I listened. I didn’t say much because there was nothing I really could say or do to help him. At the end of the call, he was embarrassed, but we both knew that our relationship changed that day. My respect for him as a husband and as a man exploded.

I can honestly say that I have the best job in the world. I get to meet amazing people, and they all have a story that they are willing to share with me. Sometimes the stories are sad, and sometimes the stories are fantastic. I listen intently, and I try to ask relevant questions along the way. It is this sharing of stories that helps develop my relationships with our clients, and they bloom into a friendships. Over my many years of practice, I’ve had clients call me over and over with questions. I think it’s wonderful that they believe not only that I can help them, but that they trust me and respect me enough to know that I’ll always be there for them no matter what. I keep this sign above my desk to remind me of how important each phone call and email is to that relationship. The reason why I do this is simple. Whenever I am around other attorneys (which is not

But, just being on the other end of that line deepened our friendship and our connection. A couple months later, he called to let me know how things had turned out and how much that phone call really meant to him.

So, yeah, each phone call and email matters.

In this issue, we are talking about the relationships that I build with our clients, and I wanted to bring your attention to a gentleman named “Jimmy.” Jimmy is a communicator, and he is always looking for new content. That is where I come into the picture. He questions me on things that he wants to know about and that are important to him and his friends. Whenever he stops by the office, Jimmy likes to pick my brain on two or three different topics that are interesting to him and his friends. He wants to get my insight, and what I think about the topic and if there are any legal issues or angles (as he calls them) that he needs to know about. Jimmy’s wife often tells me that he brings my name up at least two or three times a day like this: “Well, I just had a long conversation with my attorney on this topic” whenever he feels the need to “make a point.” After we have a conversation, Jimmy feels the need to share our insights with as many people as possible. His wife tells me he finds ways to bring it up in conversations and often switches topics to share his new insight with anyone who will listen. Now, if you knew me, you would know that I find this to be a little bit funny because I try not to take myself too seriously. But, I do enjoy the fact that Jimmy listens to me and feels that he needs to share our conversations with people that matter to him because he wants to help people. It’s always a pleasure to see Jimmy and spend a few minutes with him talking about different topics. Conversations with Jimmy are always entertaining and make my day more enjoyable. A Laughable McLawsuit Misfire

There are several ways to become a millionaire in this country, but suing a fast- food chain over a napkin isn’t one of them. In 2014, a McDonald’s restaurant in Pacoima, California, became the focus of a national discussion on how the legal system addressed frivolous lawsuits. It all started with a customer named Webster Lucas, who complained to the manager when he discovered that he had been given only one napkin with his meal. Lucas claimed the manager had “developed a nasty attitude and mumbled a few words” before cursing at him. He also alleged that the manager’s behavior was racially motivated. The verbal altercation prompted Lucas to file a $1.5 million suit against the McDonald’s Corporation and the Pacoima store’s manager and general manager for (as reported by NBC News at the time) mental anguish, emotional distress, and discrimination. Despite being offered free food from the corporation to make things right, Lucas moved forward with his litigation.

Interestingly, this wasn’t the first time Lucas had sued a major restaurant for an unsatisfactory experience. According to court documents obtained by NBC News, he had previously filed two separate suits against Jack in the Box without receiving an award for his claims. Additionally, he filed suits against Denny’s and Walmart, which were ultimately dismissed. Due to his habitual use of the California legal system, Lucas became known as a “vexatious litigant.” To earn this dubious designation, one has to file a minimum of five non-small claims suits that have been settled against them or have been pending for at least 24 months without a hearing or trial. Additionally, an individual can be deemed a “vexatious litigant” by repeatedly filing or relitigating meritless cases. Despite online reports to the contrary, court documents confirm that Lucas’ case against McDonald’s was dismissed by the end of 2014. Unsurprisingly, little has been heard of him in the California legal system since.
