Easter surprises Happy hour was interrupted by a very special visitor over Easter, though nobody was heard complaining. The Easter Bunny arrived bearing chocolate and left us all smiling, and it was lovely to have families join us in celebrating the season together. Birthday wishes There was no shortage of cake this season, with birthday celebrations for Robin, Dell, Joan, Ellen, Merlin, Jean and Jan, each marked with cards, singing and plenty of well wishes. A very special mention goes to Marie, who celebrated turning 95 years young with afternoon tea alongside her beloved family. Warmest wishes to each and every one of you. Long lunches and shared tables On International Nurses Day we said thank you to our wonderful nurses in the best way we know how, by sharing a table. Our carvery lunch was full of laughter and stories, and the lemon meringue pie and apple rhubarb crumble were the perfect sweet finish. Mother’s Day gave us the chance to celebrate the mums, grandmothers and carers among us, and all those who have played a motherly role in someone’s life. It was a day of flowers, memories and time spent with the people we love. And to round out the season, we fired up the barbecue for a lunch with residents and staff together. There is nothing quite like good food, easy conversation and a laugh shared over the grill.
