Survey participant backgrounds Young people’s survey There were 903 valid responses to the young people’s survey (n=197 UK, 706 DE). 74.6% were female (n=134 UK, 540 DE) and 21.7% (n=55 UK, 141 DE) were male. A further 2.21% (n=20) indicated they did not use these terms to describe themselves and 1.43% (n=13) did not disclose their gender. Participants ranged from 16 to 26 years old (see Graph A1). Within the German sample 75.2% (n=531) of participants were 18-21. The UK sample 50.8% (n=100) of participants being 18 or under. The mean age was 19.97 in Germany, (n=706) and 19.59 in the UK (n=197).
