Welcome back 2019-2020

• MCCSC hosted the 3rd Annual Girls in Engineering, Math, and Science (GEMS) Career and STEM Expo. • MCCSC held the 2nd Annual Maker Mill Challenge and Showcase, in partnership with IU Health. Fourth grade students from University Elementary won the overall award for their design of a reading treehouse which will be built in the children’s wing of the new hospital. • B loomington North and South were recipients of the GreatSchool of College Success Award for a successful record of graduating student who enroll and complete their second year of college. Bloomington North and South were once again recognized at the IDOE Indiana Advanced Placement reception for having at least 25% of the graduating class cohort earning a score of 3 or higher on at least one AP exam.

• MCCSC Beginning Band went from a pilot program of several schools, to every elementary student being offered the opportunity to participate. • Clear Creek and Summit Elementary expanded their Dual Language Immersion programs. • MCCSC Computer Science was fully implemented during the school year and included a pilot App Challenge in 6th grade at Childs, Lakeview, Grandview and Binford Elementary. • MCCSC provided Implicit Bias, Microaggression and Suicide Prevention training to MCCSC faculty. • The Class of 2019 also earned over 6.3 million dollars in scholarships.

• Many of our athletic teams and ECA groups received local, state and national recognition. • Many of our staff members have received local, state and national recognition while also serving as professional development presenters and speakers.

SUMMER PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

The 2019 MCCSC Summer Programs served over 1400 students. We are so very fortunate to be able to offer the many opportunities for continued learning during the summer months. We thank our Administrators and staff for their service to our students and families. A special THANK YOU to Principal Colglazier, Principal Fletcher, Assistant Principal Gobert, the staff at Fairview and Bloomington South, Dr. Kathleen Hugo, Mrs. Laura Threlkeld and the EdVenture camp staff, Mrs. Hattie Johnson, food services and the custodian staff for supporting our students.
