V. Top EEOC-Initiated Litigation Settlements And Verdicts In 2024 In 2024, the top ten EEOC enforcement action settlements and verdicts totaled $25.95 million. This constituted a significant decrease from 2023 when the top ten EEOC enforcement action settlements and verdicts were $61.3 million.

1. $8.7 million – EEOC v. DHL, Inc., Case No. 10-CV-6139 (N.D. Ill. Apr. 25, 2024) (consent decree entered in an action to resolve claims alleging that the company assigned its Black employees to routes in neighborhoods with higher crime rates compared to those assigned to its white drivers, gave Black employees much heavier dock work, and segregated its Black and white employees in violation of Title VII). 2. $3.1 million – EEOC v. Waste Industries, Case No. 23-CV-4293 (N.D. Ga. Oct. 21, 2024) (consent decree entered in an action to resolve claims that the defendant denied qualified female applicants truck driver positions at multiple company locations throughout Georgia and subjected female applicants to derogatory comments about their feminine appearance based on sex-based stereotypes and were asked sexist questions about their ability to do the job in violation of Title VII). 3. $2.5 million – EEOC v. Sunshine Raisin Corp., d/b/a National Raisin And Real Time Staffing Services, LLC, d/b/a Select Staffing, Case No. 21-CV-1424 (E.D. Cal. July 24, 2024) (consent decree entered in an action to resolve claims alleging that the company subjected female workers to a sexually hostile work environment at its Fowler, California production facility in violation of Title VII). 4. $2.2 million – EEOC v. BaronHR, LLC, Case No. 22-CV-6517 (C.D. Cal. Apr. 9, 2024) (consent decree entered in an action to resolve claims alleging that BaronHR failed to recruit and hire workers for low-skill positions based on their race and national origin, and illegally segregated jobs based on sex, in violation of Title VII). 5. $2.17 million – EEOC v. SkyWest Airlines, Inc ., Case No. 22-CV-1807 (N.D. Tex. Nov. 20, 2024) (jury found in favor of the EEOC in an action alleging that the defendant subjected female employees to sexual harassment in violation of Title VII).
