He wanted to know, 'Does Christ live here?'" "Well," the man reĀ plied confidently, "that was easy. Why didn't you just tell him that you go to church every Sunday morning and evening?" "But," she moaned, "he didn't ask that!" "Well, why didn't you tell him that you teach in the Sunday school, that you always help carry a load of kids to church? That ought to do it!" "But," she again reasoned, "he didn't ask that." "Then why didn't you tell him you sing in the choir and that you go regularly to the ladies meetings. Goodness sakes, he knows you give to the missionary program. What does he want? Isn't that enough?" "No," she concluded, "it is not. He did not ask any of those questions. The only thing he wanted to know was if Christ lived here." You see, ultimately, in our homes, that is the question God is asking today in our lives as well. Does Christ live in your home? Is He reigning in your life and in the lives of your loved ones? May the Lord make it so as we seek to glorĀ ify Him and hasten the day of His soon return. He gives us the power through His indwelling Holy Spirit. Page 45
