The Lakes South Morang College Newsletter AGENCY & ENGAGEMENT

What a wonderful year 2024 has been. We ’ d like to congratulate each and everyone one of our students on completing the year with enthusiasm.

• We ’ d like to especially mention our Year 7 students who have been a wonderful addition to the Secondary Campus and congratulations on completing your first year of Secondary Education! • We look forward to seeing how our Year 8 students fare with the added responsibility of Year 9 in 2025, we know they ’ ll engage really well with their elective units and continue to impress us. • Our Year 9 cohort have risen to the challenge of completing exams in the past few weeks and have proven to us that they are ready for next level of academic challenge as they enter our Senior School program next year. • Our Year 10 & 11 students have completed their VCE step up program and have impressed us all with how willing they are to accept the challenges that VCE, VM & VPC pose. • To our Year 12 Students, our Class of 2024, we are all so proud of your hard work, dedication and achievements. We hope that you all find the right pathway to continue your learning journey. Please come back and let us know how you are all travelling. We want to thank our parents and carers who have adapted to the switch to Compass, supported our new attendance policies and provided feedback via surveys, email or in person. Thank you to all the parents and carers who have engaged positively with us at Student Agency Interviews, SSG ’ s, over the phone, via email and at all our school events this year. Schools work best when there is a strong partnership between students, teachers and parents/ carers. We look forward to continuing to foster these strong relationships in 2025 and beyond. Speaking of 2025 we have some exciting plans in the Agency and Engagement space, we are looking forward to working closely with our College Captains and student leadership teams. We are excited to have our students participating in our staff meetings, starting with a student presentation at our first whole school staff meeting in Term 1. We will be continuing and expanding our student discovery interviews, the feedback and subsequent student interviews was some of the most valuable professional development our staff participated in this year. Many of our 2025 College Captains mentioned wanting our two campuses to work more closely together, we look forward to facilitating this in 2025.

Have a safe and happy holidays Team Lakes. We are all looking forward to seeing you come back refreshed and recharged for a massive 2025.
