Dr Carolissen was referring to the Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Business Administration, introduced last year, the online MBA and the DPhil in Digital Transformation programme. “We got close to 1000 students in two years,” he said, adding that UJ had also found funding for 60 unemployed post-grad students to complete a special one- year PGDip programme, which is being repeated this year. “We have included programmes like Google certification and AWS certification so that they can be employed from the classroom into jobs,” he said. It is important that you connect with your alma mater so that you are informed of the strategic direction of the University and current development. “As alumni, you represent our institution’s legacy of excellence…Your achievements and contributions to society are a source of immense pride for all of us and we celebrate your successes with great enthusiasm,” Nemakhavhani said. “Establishing affinity groups and chapters such as this one has been a critical pillar of support in the activities of convocation, especially because they have delivered material support, as well as extended the impact of convocation to areas we have never accessed,” she also said. Also in attendance was the Director of Executive Education and Programmes, Tumi Nkosi, and Senior Manager of Faculty Coordination & Alumni, Nell Ledwaba.
