Ezra Received Support from Artaxerxes (Ezra 7:11–28)
1. Read the passage. We have yet another historical document or letter that reveals the hand of God on His people.
• Summarize the letter in verses 12–26.
• List the tasks that were given to Ezra by the King (vv. 4–20, and 25–26).
2. In verse 23, what may have motivated Artaxerxes to give Ezra this assign- ment? (Compare to Ezra 4:17–23 where Artaxerxes was once hostile to the rebuilding of Jerusalem.)
3. What do you find encouraging about God’s amazing provision through Artaxerxes and how it impacted Ezra’s faith? (See vv. 27–28.)
