The Second Exodus - 26 Week

LESSON 16 5. Galatians 6:7 says, “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.” Haman sowed evil, and he reaped death . Take time to reflect on areas of your life where you may be sowing to the flesh with selfishness, ignoring other’s needs, refusing to submit to God, relying on yourself, or some other area of your life where you are not depending on the Spirit. Write down your reflections.

Esther Saves the Jews (Esther 8:1–8)

DAY 4

1. Read the passage. In retrospect, why was it providentially necessary for the king and Haman to be unaware of Esther’s heritage and her relationship with Mordecai?

2. What did the king’s giving of his signet ring to Mordecai signify in verse 2? (See Gen. 41:39–43 for additional insight.)

3. Read verses 3–8. What do you notice about Esther’s heartfelt plea, and what do you notice about the king’s actions in response?

4. What does the king empower Esther and Mordecai to do? (See v. 8.)
