On an individual level, one day every person who has ever lived will be judged. Revelation 20:15 says, “And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” How do we avoid this judgment? We believe God is who He says He is, and we place our faith and trust in Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross. As John 3:16 states, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” 50
4. “God’s strategy against sin and evil was awaiting the perfect warrior, who could execute divine justice with clean hands and a pure heart. His name is Jesus.” 51
Read the passages below, taking time to write your prayer to God, thanking Him for his perfect justice and redemption.
Revelation 19:11–16 Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.
Galatians 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree.”
