Matthew 7:15–17 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. Galatians 1:6–7 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 1 John 4:1–3 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.
3. Read Nehemiah 6:15–19. What is the conclusion of the rebuilding of the wall?
4. God strengthened Nehemiah in 6:9: “O God, strengthen my hands”; and in 6:16 the work “ had been accomplished with the help of our God.”
When you face discouragement or opposition, how can God’s strength and help keep you from fear and despair?
