The Second Exodus - 26 Week

3. In the New Testament, Christians are not obligated to follow purity rituals in order to worship Him. Yet, God is holy, and His people must be spiritually pure to relate to Him personally. What do you learn from the following passages? But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. — 1 John 1:7–9

How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit of- fered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. —Hebrews 9:14

Ascribe to the L ord the glory due his name; worship the L ord in the splendor of holiness. —Psalm 29:2

Exalt the L ord our God; worship at his footstool! Holy is he! —Psalm 99:5

You shall be holy, for I am holy. —1 Peter 1:16

Blessed be the God and Father of our L ord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. —Ephesians 1:3–4
