• Read Malachi 1:6–14. Whom did Malachi condemn, and what were they doing?
4. Offering blemished sacrifices was clearly prohibited in the law of Moses (Lev. 22:20–23). How do you think the priesthood spiraled to this level of disobedience?
5. Evident in their withholding their best from God, Malachi brings to light the people’s lack of respect for God and lack of obedience to God’s instructions for worship. How does God’s lament speak to you? “A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is my fear? says the L ord of hosts to you” (Mal 1:6).
