LESSON 7 4. Summarize what you learn about the following curse from Galatians 3:10–14? For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.” Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.” But the law is not of faith, rather “The one who does them shall live by them.” Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the prom- ised Spirit through faith.
5. What are some ways you have tried to deal with sin in your life and the re- ality that you cannot keep God’s perfect instructions? What is enlightening about the following truths? John 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
John 8:24 I told you that you would die in your sins, for unless you believe that I am he you will die in your sins.
John 12:48 The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.
Jeremiah 31:33 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the L ord : I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
