OUR GROWING LIST OF TOP DOG DRIVERS

I am delighted to share that in Q2, the list of our Top Dog drivers grew by around 20%. Job well done to those who joined the ranks and to those who put together another quarter of safe driving! When it comes to public visibility, drivers are the most recognizable members of our team. Our trucks stand out by design, and we’re proud that everything our drivers do reflects the quality and professionalism of our entire company. Day after day, our drivers demonstrate the safety, courtesy, and professionalism that defines our company, whether they’re navigating a highway or arriving at a job site. Our drivers build trust within the communities we serve through their commitment to safe and defensive driving. While these positive effects may be difficult to measure, they make a meaningful difference in how our company is perceived. When people see our well-maintained, professionally operated trucks on the road, it increases our brand value and builds trust in working with us. As an example of this, just last week I received the following text from a friend: “Just had a very courteous driver who waived me in onto Chinden when he didn’t need to do so. I was surprised and then saw the FBS logo on the door. You can let your fleet manager know that the little things matter.”

Our drivers’ commitment to professionalism continues after they

arrive at job sites. Many build sites are located in residential areas, and we appreciate how thoughtfully our team approaches parking and site presence. Our drivers understand the importance of being good neighbors, and their considerate approach to parking and site setup

helps maintain positive relationships with the communities where we work. This attention to detail reflects our company’s respect for the neighborhoods we serve. As a professional’s lumber yard, we’re also proud that our thoughtful delivery practices cater to the needs of contractors and other tradespeople, or deliveries coming in and out of jobsites. Our drivers excel at organizing material so the placement of products makes logical sense for framers or other tradespeople. This attentive approach to material placement and organization is something our contractors genuinely appreciate. Our drivers’ attention to detail and commitment to making contractors’ jobs easier result in high customer satisfaction, building relationships and retaining business. Excellence in sales means nothing without excellence in fulfillment and delivery. That’s why we’re so fortunate to have drivers who understand this connection and consistently deliver outstanding service. We want all our customers to recommend us enthusiastically and call us first for their next project. While our drivers may not be the ones answering those calls, their exceptional work is often what prompts customers to keep making those calls, delivery after delivery. All of this adds up to differentiators we can control, making doing business with us better than doing business with the competition. Keep it up, Top Dogs!

HIGH FIVES!

SAFE From: Zac Luker, Bellevue To: Bellevue Yard Crew

more efficient for everyone involved. They presented a solution to Scott that will benefit the entire team: building quotes for the job, not for a specific builder. This new approach will enable the commercial team to deploy the quote to builders much faster, saving time and preventing the need for duplicating paperwork. I suspect this improvement will save us at least an hour per week, which is especially valuable during busy times for our department. Tasks like these can often become tar pits for our productivity, so this is a significant step forward toward making building easy for our customers. STRIVE

WOW From: Tyler Honn, Boise To: Alfredo Juarez-Cruz, Fruitland

As I was wandering the Bellevue yard, I found that they had been spraying foam into the ends of their cantilever racks to prevent birds and wasps from building nests inside. I thought this was a cool way to help prevent wasp and bee stings as well as keep their materials safe from bird excrement. Kudos to you guys! EASY From: Chris Morrison, Caldwell To: Patty McDonel and Dustin Wickel, Caldwell Quoting commercial projects can be quite tedious, time-consuming, and detailed. Typically, when we prepare a bid package, it gets presented to multiple builders. There are no changes to the price, product, quantity, etc.; just the builder information is altered. This unnecessary duplication was adding more time to an already time-consuming process and causing delays for Scott Alpha and his team in submitting the bid earlier. To address this issue, Patty and Dustin brainstormed ways to make the process

We received a huge shout-out from Ted Mason’s framer for the above-and-beyond efforts of Fruitland driver, Alredo Juarez- Cruz. Alfredo finds the framer at the job he is working on and asks him how he would like the next job loaded. He was wowed by the extra effort Alfredo puts into making sure the customer is happy. Great Job! That’s being an employee owner! GUIDE

From: Ben Thomas, McCall To: Eric Nickasch, McCall

From: Robert Smyor, Burley To: Yard & Delivery, Burley

Eric was building a unit and discovered we were low on stock. He also noticed a vendor’s truck in our yard that had the product we needed. That product was slated to go to Boise, but we needed it more at the moment, so we received it here. That made it so we could complete the order in full for delivery to the customer. It saved everyone a lot of headaches, and we got the customer their material on time. Nice call, Eric!

I would like to give the yard crew a high five. We have a new and green crew; everyone has under a year of service except for two members. But we have been able to come together as a team, get loads out, and offer great customer service. Keep up the good work, and thanks for the teamwork!

TOP DOG DRIVER PROGRAM The Top Dog Driver program recognizes drivers who achieved a green score in Samsara for the calendar quarter. These drivers must have no at-fault accidents or property damage and a minimum of 1,000 miles in the quarter.

In the Spotlight

IN THE SPOTLIGHT Get to Know Zach Downes

At Franklin Building Supply, our foundation isn’t just made of concrete and lumber. It’s built on people. Our team shows up early, stays late, solves problems, lends a hand, and does it all with pride and purpose. They get the job done the right way and care for one another and our customers. We value our team because they make us who we are: a trusted, dependable, and community-driven company that’s as committed to its people as it is to its products. From our yard workers to our customer service team, every employee plays a key role. They bring grit, knowledge, and kindness to the table every day, and we

want them to know we see it, appreciate it, and couldn’t do it without them.

One of those incredible people is Zach Downes, who’s been with our Fruitland location for over 5 1/2 years. As our dispatcher, Zach coordinates deliveries and returns with precision and makes sure everything runs smoothly. His mornings start with a team huddle, then he’s off to check emails, monitor orders, and ensure the day’s deliveries are ready to roll. He holds everything together to help in any way he can. Zach is motivated by his family and lives by the belief that “you only get to be little once,” which is why he treasures his time

outside of work camping, fishing, riding quads, and taking road trips. He’s also a long-distance shooting enthusiast and a huge advocate for safety, as he makes sure his team always gets home in good shape.

Thanks for everything, Zach. You represent the best of Franklin Building Supply!
